“This year, CIM Coimbra Region submitted an application to POSEUR, which aims to control and prevent the velutina wasp in the region. This candidacy was approved in October 2021, with a total investment of around half a million euros”, said the vice-president of the Coimbra Region Raul Almeida.

Raul Almeida explained that this application aims to fulfill different objectives, including building, in terms of equipment, and installation of a network of traps.

“It will allow the capture of wasps, with the objective of reducing, year after year, the formation of new nests”, he added.
