Ikea has announced a new delivery service allowing customers to pick up their orders from the Swedish company from branches of Lidl.

This new service allows you to schedule the delivery of your orders online to be collected from the car park of one of four Lidl stores on the south bank of the Tagus - Almada (Sobreda), Seixal (Fogueteiro), Fernão Ferro and Alcochete - and also in the Centro Alegro Setubal Commercial.

The pilot project aims to be an extension of the partnership between the companies, “with a view to better comfort, convenience and accessibility for customers”.

The new deliveries will be available:

Lidl Almada Sobreda – Rua Quinta do Salgado, 14, 2815-756, Sobreda; Pickup time from 4pm to 6pm (Wednesday and Friday)

Lidl Fogueteiro – Avenida Resistentes Antifascistas, 60, 2845-147, Amora; 1 pm to 3 pm (Wednesday and Friday)

Lidl Fernão Ferro – Avenida 10 de Junho, 2865-600 Fernão Ferro; 10 am to 12 pm (Wednesday and Friday)

Lidl Alcochete – Rua do Láparo, 95, 2890-112 Alcochete; 1 pm to 3 pm (Thursday and Saturday)

“This new service is part of Ikea's multi-channel transformation strategy, which allows our furniture products and solutions to be more accessible and convenient to the majority of Portuguese people. This test with our partner Lidl allows us to increase this proximity, offering convenience in accessing the service, as it acts as a complement to our online store, simultaneously creating synergies with new partners", said Ricardo Pereira, CFO of IKEA Portugal.

The reason for investing, in a first test phase, in the Greater Lisbon region, starting with the South Bank of the Tagus, is explained by the fact that it is a "relevant area with great potential, where many Ikea customers are located".

“The proximity and convenience of the Portuguese is a priority for us, so we are continually looking for innovative ways to do it, meeting their needs and expectations. This partnership with Ikea reflects exactly that, a closer and easier collection, given the strategic location of our stores, which we believe is an added value”, comments the communication department of Lidl Portugal.
