“The waste collection service in the capital will be
affected on the night of the 18th to the 19th and during the day on Tuesday”,
reads a statement from the municipality.
According to the municipality, “the disturbances” will happen
because of the prior strike called by SITE/CRSA – Union of Workers in the
Transforming Industries, Energy and Environmental Activities of the Center
South and Autonomous Regions.
The strike is scheduled for Tuesday from 00:00, covering
Valorsul workers, responsible for the collection of rubbish produced in Lisbon.
"The Municipality's Urban Hygiene Services will make
every effort to minimise the possible consequences of the indicated situation
as well as, after the period in question, proceed with the rapid normalisation
of the rubbish removal system", the statement added.
Will be on strike.. looks like they’ve been on strike for years.
