Born on 9th August 1934, in Birmingham, England, Dorothy resided for many years in Sutton Coldfield, then seven years in Tripoli, Libya, before moving to the Algarve in 1989. She loved long distance swimming, tennis, driving, baking, church, and miscellaneous adventuring, all of which she continued to do well into her 80s, fondly remembered as the “human dynamo” and generally doing things twice as fast as they needed to be done.
Predeceased by brother Raymond, sisters Audrey and Doreen and husband John. Survived by son Simon, daughter-in-law Anne Marie, and grandchildren Faith and Matthew.
In lieu of flowers, Dorothy would
appreciate support for her longtime friend and missionary Jill Kinsey in
Africa, IBAN: PT50 0010 0000 5099 9820 0014 3. A memorial service
celebrating Dorothy's long life will be held at 11.00, 5th October, at the
International Evangelical Church of the Algarve in Vale Judeu, Loulé.
