A new government decree
will restrict central heating in Italy this winter, with buildings facing an
extra 15 days without heating and citizens told to turn down the thermostat by
one degree and off for an extra hour per day.

The new rules come as the
country tries to reduce energy consumption due to a gas supply shortage sparked
by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
