According to Notícias ao Minuto, Manouche Jazz Festival returns after the success of the first edition in 2022. Cine Incrível – Alma Danada will host five concerts, between May 18 and 21.

The cycle starts on May 18, with Miss Manouche and May 19, it will be the turn of guitar duo Mano a Mano, by André and Bruno Santos, followed by the performance of Tchavolo Schmitt. On the 20th, Daniel John Martin & Romane perform and the cycle closes on the 21st, with Manouche Station and Dança Blues & Swing Lisboa.

Jazz Manouche "emerges as a musical expression with the ethnic Roma guitarist Manouche Django Reinhardt and the Quintet of the Hot Club of France."

"This quintet maintained its activity between the 30s and 50s in Europe having as formal aesthetics Swing but with the Roma appropriation. The formation of this quintet is special because it was composed only of stringed instruments (three guitars, violin and double bass) and because the improvisation of Stéphane Grapelli and Django Reinhardt was highly creative and energetic."

On May 18 at 9pm, one of the most prestigious Portuguese groups, Miss Manouche will take to the stage, having had many years of activity in Portugal playing this style of jazz.

On the 19th, at 9pm, it is the turn of Mano a Mano, brothers André and Bruno Santos, with several albums edited in their own name and participation in various projects (Maria João, Carlos Bica, Rita Redshoes, Salvador Sobral, among others).

Also on May 19, at 10pm, Charles "Tchavolo" Schmitt takes to the stage at Cine Incrível.

On the 20th at 9pm it will be the turn of Daniel John Martin & Romane.

The Festival ends on May 21 with Manouche Station and the Blues & Swing Lisbon Dance School at 17pm. Formed in 2015 by João Novais, Estação Manouche which has become a mandatory stop to discover the eternal themes of the European Jazz repertoire.

"The Manouche Station reproduces the infectious sound of the 20s and 30s, paying homage to the legendary musicians of the Hot Club de France, Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, portraying the bohemian spirit of glamour and fun that accompany this musical style," the note reads.

Accompanying this concert will be the dancers of the dance school Blues & Swing Lisbon and at 4pm there will be a dance class open to all the public who want to participate.
