The current fuel price support, which has been in force since the beginning of last year, "is currently being reassessed in order to ensure its adaptation and compliance with the current evolution of fuel prices", stresses the Ministry led by Fernando Medina.
In a statement sent to newsrooms, the government states that considering all the measures in force, “the reduction in the tax burden remains the same as that in force during the month of March, which is equivalent to 34 cents per litre of diesel and gasoline”.
“The total discount on the tax burden remains unchanged, as the carbon tax remains suspended, applying the 2021 values, and the ISP discounts remain the same compared to the month of March, given the evolution of fuel prices seen in recent weeks”, justifies the Executive.
The discount relates to the support made up of the discount applicable to the Tax on Petroleum Products (ISP), equivalent to a decrease in the VAT rate from 23 percent to 13 percent.
On diesel, the current discount is 18.2 cents per litre, and on gasoline, 19 cents per litre, including the respective VAT discount, according to the Ministry of Finance.
