Raul Blanco who is the president of RENFE announced that they have opened a new French hub in the city of Lyon. This means the Spanish rail company now will be able to sell tickets and provide services within the French borders.

RENFE in France is now considered an official French business rail provider for the public which means they are able to provide international, national, and tourist services within the country. The new subsidiary that these services will be coming from is Part-Dieu Station Lyon.

The first routes RENFE is planning on providing are from Barcelona to Lyon and Madrid to Marseille with their high-speed trains. But also, now able to serve other cities in France like Nimes, Montpellier, and Avignon from the Part-Dieu base.

RENFE plans on selling tickets for the new routes in the next few days which is the start of the company’s plan to become a major rail provider in France.
