The event, which is part of the 25th Handicrafts Fair of Guimarães, will be presented at Jardim da Alameda de São Dâmaso, in the presence of the mayor, Domingos Bragança (PS), the councillor for Culture and also the president of the cooperative 'A Oficina', Paulo Lopes Silva, Catarina Pereira, from the artistic direction of Casa da Memória de Guimarães and Artes Tradicionais d'A Oficina, and José Pontes, president of the Artistic Association of Marcha Gualteriana.

“The Festas da Cidade and Gualterianas are one of the main tourist attractions in Guimarães. With a centenary tradition, these festivities have been, over the years, an experience and demonstrations of economic and cultural vitality of the district, with such a projection that they have become one of the most important festive attractions in the entire North region”, says the organisation.

The XXV Guimarães Handicraft Fair is also part of the program of traditional festivities in the city of Guimarães, between July 28 and August 7, in Jardim da Alameda de São Dâmaso, with dozens of participants from various areas.

The high point of the festivities is scheduled for 22:00 on August 7, the last day of the Gualterianas, with the beginning of the traditional Gualteriana March that will travel through the streets of the city of Guimarães.

The actress and singer Soraia Tavares will perform from 21:30 on August 4, followed by the Agir concert an hour later.

The following day, the night opens with a performance by Bianca Barros, at 9:30 pm, with DAMA performing from 10:30pm.

On Sunday, August 6, it's the turn of IRMA and The Black Mamba to perform at 21:30 and 22:30, respectively.

The concerts will take place at Praça da Plataforma das Artes.

The 2023 Festas da Cidade and Gualterianas program also includes the folklore festival, fado night, a parade and gathering of drummers, a street concert and meeting of concertina players and the 20th parade of old carriages, among other initiatives.
