According to Sapo News,“This is Biliti’s first passenger vehicle that uses its innovative Smart Swapp™ replaceable battery technology, which allows a high level of operability, as it is possible to change the battery in less than two minutes”, he highlights in a statement.

According to the same source, Biliti was the first company in the world to produce 3-wheel electric vehicles with an integrated system of replaceable batteries. This feature prevents the vehicle operator from having to immobilize the vehicle to recharge, and can quickly exchange the worn-out battery for another, fully charged one. The batteries, with a range of more than 70 kilometers, can be recharged in around 3 hours, inside or outside the vehicle.

Since announcing its arrival in Portugal at the end of 2021, Biliti Electric has already sold electric vehicles for solid waste management to several Portuguese Parish Councils, as well as versions of these vehicles for “last mile” distribution to supermarket chains with urban delivery needs.

The new passenger vehicle, with a maximum speed limited to 45 km/h, was specially optimized by Biliti for urban transport, with power profiles adapted to cities like Lisbon, with a mix of flat and hilly routes.

Special launch price

The Biliti Urban ET (initials for “Electric Trike”) will be launched in November, in Lisbon. In order to reward the Portuguese market for the way it received its products, the company is proposing an extremely competitive special launch price of just €7,999+VAT (vehicle + battery) for the first 100 vehicle orders. Additional batteries, with 7 kWh capacity, can be purchased for €2,400+VAT.

The multinational company will invite some of its current and potential customers to visit its facilities in Lisbon where they can test drive the vehicle.

José Cunha, Manager of Biliti in Portugal, said “we are excited to continue contributing to Portugal's sustainable transport ecosystem and are very pleased with the extremely positive feedback from our customers, whose high satisfaction with the performance of our products has led to repeat orders. We now look forward to welcoming our guests to Lisbon to experience the future of urban mobility with Biliti.”

Pedro Costa, president of the Campo de Ourique Parish Council, which recently acquired four Biliti Taskman (the cargo version of the Urban ET), referred to “the importance of these vehicles in managing urban waste and reducing CO2 emissions in our fleet”, while highlighting its “simplicity of operation and reliability”.

The company, which is already present in 12 countries, is using our country as a port of entry for its range of electric vehicles, destined for distribution throughout Europe.

The company has been with us for around two years, with its own facilities in Lisbon (where maintenance and services are also provided to its customers), and has increasingly been incorporating accessories from local suppliers, thus creating value in the Portuguese economy.
