According to information available on the website of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), at 6:30 am, around 20 incidents were recorded, mainly in the north of the continent, most of them falling trees and flooding structures or surfaces.

At that time, more than 40 operators were involved in resolving the various situations caused by rain and wind.

According to the ANEPC website, the incidents were recorded in Porto, Aveiro, Évora, Coimbra, Castelo Branco and Viseu.

In a report made on Wednesday night, ANEPC indicated that, until 10:30 pm, 669 situations caused by bad weather had been recorded, with the Porto Metropolitan Area sub-region concentrating the largest number of cases. In the city of Porto, a family of five had to be relocated.

All districts of mainland Portugal have been under an orange warning since 06:00 today due to strong rain, wind and sea disturbances.

The IPMA predicts for today, with the passage of depression ALINE, southwest wind, gradually becoming strong in the Center and South regions from the beginning of the morning, with gusts that could reach 110 kilometers per hour (km/h), especially on the coast south of Cape Mondego and including the south coast of the Algarve, and in the mountains of these regions.

The IPMA indicates that gusts exceeding 110 km/h may occur locally, as well as extreme wind phenomena.

As for the rain, the IPMA states in a statement that it began on Wednesday in the North and Center regions, extending to the rest of the territory from the early hours of today, increasing in frequency and intensity from the morning onwards.

According to the IPMA, the maritime agitation will increase, with waves expected for the western coast, waves measuring 4 to 5 meters in the western quadrant, increasing to 5 to 7 meters in height, reaching a maximum height of up to 14 meters, persisting throughout Friday.

On the south coast of the Algarve, the waves will be from the southwest, increasing to 4 to 4.5 meters during the afternoon.
