We are a non-profit association created in May 2004 by Célia Caravela in Olhão and our mission is to improve the living conditions of animals. Initially, we intended to reduce the number of stray cats through the mission “Capture, sterilize, return” and have been developing the work until today, creating a refuge for many of the 70-90 adult cats.

With the support of the municipality of Olhão, we work to capture, sterilise and treat when necessary. The cats are returned to their colonies and are regularly fed by the volunteers. When this is not possible, they are sheltered in the refuge.

At the moment the refuge is full and ADAPO can’t receive more animals: We created a crowdfunding with the help of GIVE ME platform in order to pay our different vet bills in Olhão.
