Over recent decades, energy consumption has increased a lot. This is the result of population growth and greater productive activity. Unfortunately, much of this energy is generated from fossil fuels, which, result in emissions of CO2 and other greenhouse gases (GHG), the main problem in climate change.

Portugal is still heavily dependent on fossil fuels (67.1 percent in 2021), which places the country 10th on the list of nations with the highest energy dependency in the European Union.

Change starts now

The change starts now, with each and every one of us. As energy consumers, it is essential that we commit to sustainability and raise awareness in order to change our behavior immediately.

Responsible and efficient energy consumption not only contributes to protecting the environment and mitigating climate change, but also to reducing the cost of your electricity bill.

In this sense, the EVA, Energy Virtual Assistance, is a platform for energy consumers on how to use this resource more efficiently, reducing your consumption and, consequently, your energy bills.

Better choices will also help to reduce the EU's dependence on external oil and gas suppliers and support the sustainable growth of the national economy and the European Union.

Make informed choices, find out about the best opportunities to save energy and, step by step, apply the most efficient measures. With small savings measures you can achieve big energy efficiency results.

It's time to rethink the way we consume energy. For more information, please visit the platform DECO has created for you at deco.pt/eva
