"The Council of Ministers has approved the decree-law that determines the increase in the national minimum wage to 820 euros from 1 January 2024, in compliance with the commitments assumed within the scope of the Reinforcement of the Medium-Term Income Improvement Agreement, Salaries, and Competitiveness", indicates the statement released by the Government.

"This increase represents an increase of 60 euros per month and corresponds to the largest increase in the minimum guaranteed monthly salary ever seen, of 7.9%", highlights the executive.

The value of 820 euros for next year is part of the reinforcement of the agreement signed in October in the Social Concertation between the Government and social partners, with the exception of CGTP and CIP - Confederação Empresarial de Portugal, which were left out.
