The IRS deduction of rent was previously set at 502 euros, with the Government recently approving the Council of Ministers to increase the value to 550 euros.

However, following proposals from the PS and PAN to amend the State Budget for 2024 (OE2024), the limit on the deductible amount will rise to 600 euros in 2024.

The measure was approved with the PCP voting against, Chega and the Liberal Initiative abstaining and the remaining parties voting in favour.
