The Azorean executive (PSD/CDS-PP/PPM) justifies the "adjustment of the maximum public sale price" of fuels with "the recent variations in the international market in reference prices for petroleum and energy products".
From today. May 1st, petrol will cost 1.567 euros per litre in the Azores, 5.7 cents more than in April, while diesel will remain at 1.435 euros per litre.
This is the third consecutive rise in the price of petrol, updated at the beginning of each month in the region, by a total of 12 cents, after a drop of 18.6 cents in the previous four months.
Diesel rose by 3.6 cents per litre in March and April, after having registered a drop of 16.9 cents in the previous three months.
The maximum prices of petroleum and energy products in the Azores are "changed on the 1st of each month and in amounts equivalent to the variation in the value of the monthly Europe Price (PE)".
