Every Sunday, Amsterdam’s Café Brecht hosts a “digital detox hangout”, organised by the burgeoning Offline Club, which aims to help guests “connect by disconnecting”, with phone-free musical events such as Off the Radar, among others.

Since launching officially at the beginning of February, the Offline Club has become immensely popular, offering events in cities across the Netherlands and often selling out early.
The Dutch government is also making moves to restrict online access, as students aged 12 to 18 are no longer allowed to use mobile phones during school hours.
