The boats were “in an irregular situation due to the lack of inspection and license to carry out the maritime-tourist activity, and were seized as a precautionary measure”, says the National Maritime Authority.
The owners of the vessels have been notified and will only be able to resume maritime tourism activities after the situation has been regularised.
Three members of the local command of the Olhão Maritime Police were involved in this action, supported by a vessel, and four inspectors from ASAE.

But the rules are that if you work as an MT, Maritimo Turistico, whatever the loading capacity of your boat, you will be restricted to 12 pax and will have to conform with local annual inspections in and out of the water for wooden vessels . So what has happened is correct.... Without the inspections, how would you get the civil liability and third party insurance?
