In a press release, Delta Air Lines recalls that the Lisbon-Boston route began operating in 2019 and, since then, more than 235,000 passengers have been transported on these flights.

“With two daily flights from Lisbon to the United States and around 860 seats available every day, the company offers convenient one-stop connections to destinations in the US and beyond through its main hubs in Boston and New York-JFK”, adds Delta Air Lines.

This summer, Delta Air Lines flights are operated on Boeing 767-300ER aircraft, aircraft that represent an increase in capacity of 40 seats compared to the Boeing 757-200ER that the airline previously used.

“Boston is one of our fastest growing international hubs and a popular destination for Portuguese customers”, says Paul Hassenstab, director of EMEAI Sales at Delta Air Lines, considering that the fifth-anniversary celebration is “a big milestone” for this company.

Also satisfied is Carlos Abade, president of Turismo de Portugal, who argues that the fifth anniversary of this route attests to the “commitment to link Portugal to the United States”, in a partnership that “has strengthened ties between the two countries and, also, contributed to the dynamism of the Portuguese economy because it facilitates access to Portugal and its entire tourist offer”.

Delta Air Lines flights depart Lisbon daily at 12:45 pm and arrive in Boston at 3:30 pm, while in the opposite direction, they depart from the North American city at 11:15 pm to arrive in Lisbon at 10:45 am the following day.

The New York-JFK route, which also has daily flights throughout the year, departs Lisbon at 10 am and arrives in the US city at 1 pm, while in the opposite direction, the departure from New York takes place at 7:55 pm, arriving in Lisbon at 08:00 the following day.

Customers flying from Lisbon can choose between 55 destinations via Boston and 75 via New York-JFK. The main connections for Portuguese travelers include Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Orlando, in the United States, and San Juan, Puerto Rico; Cancun, Mexico; São Paulo Brazil; and Nassau, Bahamas.
