The president of the European Commission and candidate of the European People's Party for a second term will be in Portugal on June 6 for a campaign by the Democratic Alliance (AD), a European party source told Lusa.

A source from the European People's Party (PPE) told Lusa that, following an invitation made by AD – the electoral coalition formed by PPD/PSD, CDS, and PPM -, Von der Leyen will be in a campaign action in Porto on the day she starts in the Union European voting for the European elections and three days before the vote in the country.

The visit comes after Ursula von der Leyen went on campaign to countries such as Greece, Germany, Poland, Croatia, and Denmark.

In the next two weeks until the European elections, scheduled for June 6th to 9th, the candidate's agenda is expected to intensify, given also the end of debates with other main candidates, a total of three, held between the end of April and this week.
