The Caracol Saloio Festival, now in its 23rd edition, is the responsibility of the Municipal Council of Loures, in the district of Lisbon, and will take place, as in the previous two years, at Parque Verde do LoureShopping, in the urbanisation of Infantado.

The free entry event starts on June 27th and runs until July 14th, between 17:00 and 00:00, with 10 taverns and 20 craft stalls.

Speaking to the Lusa agency, the councillor responsible for Tourism at Loures City Council, Vasco Touginha (PSD), said that the municipality expects the event to once again be “a success”, surpassing the 120 thousand visitors from last year.

“The hallmark of this event, since we changed the location, is that it is an event, effectively, for families. Not only is the time of year pleasant, but the way the event is displayed makes the experience very enjoyable,” he highlighted.

Caracoleta pataniscas, snail açorda, snail feijoada, snail chilli, Bulhão Pato snail, snail guillo with shrimp, snail pizza, snail style lagareiro, snail omelette and snail burger are some of the dishes that can be tasted at the festival.

The taverns will also have alternative dishes for people who are not snail lovers.

The Caracol Saloio Festival program will be complemented by street food and crafts, with visitors being able to enjoy daily musical shows and a children's entertainment space.
