“In this event, restaurants, institutions, associations, and individuals from this region [Idanha-a-Nova] will come together and put their culinary skills to the test, during a healthy competition of flavours”, explained the municipality of Idanha-a-Nova. Nova, in the district of Castelo Branco.

On Saturday, preceding the 18th edition of the Traditional Soups Festival, the Accordionists and Concertinas Meeting will take place.

During the weekend, there are also 'show-cooking' sessions, and traditional music shows and, for children, the festival organisers have created a children's area with inflatables.

This year, the event has more than 100 soups in competition.

The soup tasting is scheduled for Sunday, starting at 1 pm and it is up to visitors to help choose the best recipes in the competition.

The 18th edition of the Traditional Soups Festival ends on Sunday, at 6:00 pm, with a concert by José Malhoa.
