These Government objectives were conveyed by Luís Montenegro at the end of an extraordinary Council of Ministers dedicated to the digital transition and administrative modernization, which took place at the Institute for the Development of New Technologies at Universidade Nova, in the municipality of Almada.
In front of journalists, the Prime Minister warned that the country runs some risks in terms of the functioning of the State machinery, as a new digital bureaucracy has been created over the last few years.
“In many of the areas in which we sought to simplify, we ultimately had greater access difficulties”, he pointed out, before assuming as his executive's goals greater interconnection between the different departments of public administration, the standardization and simplification of procedures for citizens and companies, as well as support for those who have greater difficulty interacting with new technologies.
