The Nossa Senhora do Rosário Hospital (Barreiro) is the only one in the country with two emergency departments closed (Paediatrics and Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and in Médio Tejo, the hospitals of Santarém and Dr. Manoel Constâncio (Abrantes) have closed their Obstetrics and Gynaecology emergency departments.
In the south, the only restriction recorded is at the Portimão hospital, which has closed its Obstetrics Emergency Department.
Although there are no more closures, there are several restrictions, with units classified as referenced, services reserved for internal emergencies and cases referred by the Urgent Patient Guidance Centre (CODU) of the National Institute of Medical Emergencies (INEM) or by the SNS 24 line.
The Executive Board of the National Health Service (SNS) is urging the population to "always call the SOS Pregnancy Line [808 24 24 24] before going to a Gynecology emergency department".
