The multi-award-wining multimedia show “Lisbon Under the Stars”, developed by the creative studio OCUBO in partnership with the Carmo Archaeological Museum, returns for its second season in 2024.

“Lisbon Under the Stars” is an immersive show that will take audiences on a multi-sensory journey through some of the most remarkable moments in more than 600 years of Lisbon and Portugal’s history, by using 360º multimedia projections, virtual dancers and visual effects, with special appearances by major figures in Portuguese culture, dance and music, such as Mariza, Teresa Salgueiro and Rão Kyao, to the sound of names such as Amália Rodrigues, Luís De Freitas Branco, Salvador Sobral or Zeca Afonso.

Whether you’re looking for a plan for the end of the holiday, an innovative way to discover Lisbon and its legacy or a way to relax when the kids go back to work or school, this show, guided by the unmistakable voice of Catarina Furtado, illuminates every detail of the interior of the Carmo Ruins under the stars, bringing to the present, in a unique virtual environment, historical episodes that impacted the monument itself, such as the violent earthquake of 1755, in a place that is still a testimony to the devastation and a symbol the resilience of what, until last year, was Lisbon’s main gothic church.

“Lisbon Under the Stars” will be available from August 22, with screenings at 9pm from Monday to Wednesday and at 9pm and 10pm from Thursday to Saturday, until October 31. Tickets cost between €15 and €20, with free admission for children under 5 years old, with part of the proceeds going to the Corações com Coroa association. There is also the option of a reduced ticket, at €17, valid for young people aged 6 to 17, seniors and Lisbon residents. Tickets can be purchased via the platform www.portugalagenda.com or at the local box office.
