ROS Retail Outlet Shopping currently has four outlet centre extensions underway with its investors: Designer Outlet Gdańsk (scheduled to open in autumn 2024), Designer Outlet Algarve (scheduled to open in summer 2025), City Outlet Geislingen (scheduled to open in late summer 2025) and Designer Outlet Croatia. The new Designer Outlet Kraków development is expected to open to the public in spring 2025, according to a report by idealista.

The French Frey Group is a listed real estate investor and manager on the Paris Stock Exchange, specialising in the development and operation of open-air shopping centres in Europe. It also carries out major urban renewal operations and mixed-use projects.

“Even with rising inflation, outlet centres are popular shopping destinations. ROS managed to close 2023 with a 16.5% increase in sales compared to 2022. Given the expansion plans of the brand partners in the ROS network, as well as the enrichment and improvement of category diversity and marketing, further synergies are expected to emerge from the development of new outlet locations,” the statement reads.

“We are excited to announce an important strategic transaction for Frey. Acquiring ROS, the fourth largest outlet operator in Europe, will not only give us access to a high-performing asset but will also offer us broadly diversified geographic exposure,” comments Antoine Frey, Chairman and CEO of Frey.

“Frey is the ideal investor for ROS Retail Outlet Shopping, driving growth in the European outlet market and the development of new, unique and innovative outdoor shopping destinations. We share the same vision of creating sustainable, socially responsible and attractive shopping destinations that meet the needs of customers today and those of future generations,” adds Thomas Reichenauer, co-founder and CEO of ROS.
