Mohammad-Ebrahim Hassan-Nejad, the deputy minister for livestock products affairs, has announced that Iran exported 1,469 tonnes of honey in the previous Iranian calendar year, which ended on 19 March.

Mokhtar Mohajer, the chairman of the Animal Science Institute, reported that 8,300 kilogrammes of royal jelly, 406 tonnes of pollen, 2,536 tonnes of beeswax, 247 tonnes of propolis, and 3,917 grams of bee venom are produced annually.
Iran is the third largest honey exporter in the world and has 155 thousand people working in apiaries all over the country.
