According to new data from the National Energy Administration, the cumulative installed capacity of China’s renewable energy accounted for 56 percent of the nation's total in 2024.

The renewable energy sector installed 373 kilowatts of added capacity last year, a 23 percent increase from 2023, due to the rapid adoption of solar power.
The combined power generation from wind and solar energy amounted to 1.83 trillion kilowatt-hours in 2024 and surpassed the residential electricity consumption, which stood at 1.49 trillion kilowatt-hours.
