In June, just before families departed for summer holidays, Bright International School unveiled its exciting new facilities and pedagogical programmes to the school community. The presentation (which also invited the wider Algarve community) showcased some of the innovative teaching and learning methodologies already in place at the Sharing Education Group’s other schools, and that have been awarded international recognition and awards in recent years. The programme, grounded in a deep respect for the individuality of each student, promotes a holistic approach to education — an approach that is unique in the educational landscape of Portugal.

This forward-thinking programme has already been successfully implemented at the International Sharing Schools in Lisbon and Madeira, both part of the Sharing Education Group.

The 2024/25 school year at Bright International School began on Monday, September 9th, welcoming over 20 new families, all looking forward for not only the physical development of the school’s campus but also the development of the pedagogical framework and learning environment that is already well underway.

"We’ve seen a surge in inquiries from families in the past few months, particularly after we hosted the Official Presentation of the projects for the expansion of the school’s facilities”, explains Miguel Ladeira Santos, the CEO of Sharing Education Group. “This year, we’ve also expanded our academic team and made significant investments in the ongoing professional development offerings for our staff, ensuring that our students receive world-class education. We have a world-class team of educators in the school, which is the greatest asset any school can aspire to build, and it is now up to the school’s Management and Senior Leadership to ensure that this world-class team is given the proper resources to take the learning experience of our students to the next level. And this is where Sharing Education Group comes in, bringing our wealth of expertise, proven track record and immense collaboration opportunities for our schools to grow together and for our student’s educational experience to become better and better, year after year. Students were welcomed back to the school on Monday by Mr. Tom Caston, the newly appointed School Principal. During the Opening Ceremony, Tom Caston made his excitement for this new project well noticeable, stating: “It is wonderful to finally have the children here with us, after weeks of planning and preparation. They look fantastic in their new uniforms and the school campus is filled with the sound of our happy pupils.”

"Every academic year is a journey, but this one is particularly special," Tom Caston added. "I firmly believe that we are laying the foundation for something extraordinary that will benefit not only our students but the entire Algarve community for years to come. Anyone familiar with the dynamic learning environments that already exist at the International Sharing Schools will understand why there is so much anticipation for what lies ahead at Bright.”

This year promises exciting developments, as continuous enhancements to the school’s campus will be rolled out over the coming months.
