According to Major Cláudio Lopes, Public Relations Officer for the GNR's Santarém Territorial Command, the 64-year-old man was staying in a hotel in the city, in the municipality of Ourém (Santarém), with a group of citizens of the same nationality, and was last seen in the area of ​​Santa Catarina da Serra, in the municipality of Leiria.

“We started the search on Sunday and today they continue with canine and drone equipment”, explained Cláudio Lopes.

The alert for the disappearance was made at 4pm on Sunday by the wife of the Spanish citizen who suffers from Alzheimer's.
