The recommendation “Lisbon a more child-friendly city”, presented by the sole deputy of PAN - People - Animals – Nature, António Morgado Valente, was voted by points, and all were approved, starting with the idea of ​​“creating safe areas in the immediate vicinity schools, where children can cross the streets without the need for constant adult supervision and play in places protected from the risks associated with traffic and pollution”.

This point had votes against from PSD, IL, PPM and CDS-PP, abstention from Chega and votes in favor from BE, Livre, PEV, PCP, two independent deputies from Cidadãos Por Lisboa (elected by the PS/Livre coalition) , PS, PAN, MPT and Aliança.

With Chega's votes against and the others' votes in favor, the assembly approved the recommendation to “implement safe routes to schools, promoting active mobility, with effective conditions for walking or cycling”.

PAN's proposal for the council to adopt road measures that protect children, "such as reducing the maximum speed to 30 kilometres per hour in most urban areas and installing speed bumps or continuous sidewalks to moderate the speed of cars", was made possible with the opposing votes of PSD, IL, PPM, Aliança, CDS-PP and Chega, the abstention of MPT and the favourable votes of the others.

Other approved points are to increase pedestrian areas when necessary to prevent pedestrians from circulating on the roadways; make spaces around schools safe and free from air pollution, noise pollution and heavy traffic, so that children can move around safely, while at the same time contributing to a healthier environment; and increase and improve the supply of public transport in order to make them more attractive compared to individual transport, with regular schedules, especially “yellow” school buses intended for school transport.
