This was the result of a police operation carried out in recent days by the PJ's National Unit to Combat Drug Trafficking, which allowed 3,458 tons of cocaine to be located and seized.

The drug “was hidden inside boxes of bananas, packed on several pallets, and transported in the holds of a cargo-type vessel that regularly transports fruit between Latin America and the European continent,” the PJ revealed in a statement sent.

The PJ adds that the drugs were destined for several European countries and that the police operation had the collaboration and support of the United Kingdom's National Crime Agency.
