Sargassum is a seaweed native to the high seas that causes great environmental harm when in coastal waters, but companies and governments in the region have started applying the plant in various industrial uses.


Using these technological initiatives, it's hoped that the demand for sargassum will make cleaning the beaches of it more viable.
