The strategic mission to China aims to boost investments and foster trade partnerships between the two countries.

The President of AICEP will hold meetings with senior executives, government representatives and potential investors, also promoting meetings with local media, in order to explore opportunities in innovative and strategic sectors, such as the automotive sector, electric mobility and energy.

The President of AICEP will also participate in the "Boao Forum for Asia 2025", an Annual Conference held in China's Hainan Province, which aims to promote and deepen economic exchange, coordination and cooperation between Asia and other parts of the world.

"This mission is a decisive step to strengthen the Portuguese presence in one of the largest global markets, highlighting that Portugal continues to be a reliable and reference partner in the panorama of Chinese investment in the world," says the President of AICEP.

The last decade has been marked by the growth of Chinese investments in Portugal, with China's stock of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Portugal reaching a cumulative value of more than 12 billion euros at the end of 2024.

The recent confirmation of the investment of 2 billion euros by the Chinese company CALB, in a lithium battery factory in Sines, a project monitored by AICEP, is a good example of the importance that economic cooperation between Portugal and China represents for the country.

In addition to this initiative, AICEP has also planned other initiatives throughout the year within the scope of its activities in China, as indicated in its external promotion map (publicly available here).
