The decision was made during the council’s meeting held on Monday, 5 May, and marks the first official step toward implementing this new public service tool.
Designed to streamline interaction between residents and municipal services, the Municipal Card aims to serve as both a facilitator and a benefit provider. The card is envisioned as a dynamic tool—regularly updated and improved—to enhance the accessibility and efficiency of municipal facilities and services. In addition to simplifying administrative processes, it will offer users a range of discounts and advantages when accessing local infrastructure, public spaces, and other community resources.
According to the municipality, one of the key goals of the initiative is to strengthen communication and operational efficiency between the council and local residents. The card will also support the local economy by offering cardholders significant discounts on goods and services provided by businesses in the area.
Community participation in shaping the regulation is encouraged. Residents and stakeholders can submit suggestions and feedback on the proposed regulation during business hours—Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Contributions must be submitted in writing and addressed to the Mayor of Lousã. Submissions can be delivered in person at the municipality’s citizen service desk or sent by email. The consultation period will remain open for 10 working days from the date the draft regulation is published on the municipality’s official website.
