Just eight months later, his debut book was printed and launched at Levels restaurant for family, friends, locals, and tourists.
His memoir is titled “A Walk in the Park" and here follows an extract of the introduction:
“What is a walk in the park? It is an idiom of something that is easy to achieve, something that is simple. Its origin is debated but the general thought is that it is derived from an excellent game of golf or a good, easy walk. Also, a walk in the park is relaxing and comforting, it’s not difficult. My reference to a walk in the park is for my journey in life and is an oxymoron; it is somewhat contradictory to my experiences, as you will discover as you read on.
This book is a truthful insight into my life, and it emphasizes on lessons learnt, both hard and good.
I attempt to introduce positive attitudes that helped me through the tough times and hopefully it leaves you with some inspiration and the courage to leap, as the picture illustrates me leaping as a young lad on Boscombe beach.
As Monty Python sang at the end of “The Life of Brian,” you came from nothing, and you go back with nothing. This is so true as we all arrive with nothing, and as you will read, my arrival was extraordinary, and we will return with nothing, except for the impact and memories we create and leave for our spouses, children, and friends.
Let us start at the beginning on a cold winter's night in 1962, in Lichfield, England…
The book is filled with humour, wild emotions, it is crackling with life and some insightful lessons.”
It is now available on Amazon by author A C Foxcraft.
