“We have sufficient reserves, and we have a refinery currently in operation—factors that allow us to reassure the Portuguese public, even regarding those products that have garnered the most attention, such as jet fuel, 80% of which is guaranteed by domestic production,” affirmed João Diogo Marques da Silva.
The executive was speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration ceremony for Galp’s electric charging hub at the A1 Motorway service area in Pombal, in the district of Leiria.
According to Galp’s Co-CEO, “the situation is quite secure and well-covered,” and he gave assurances that reserves “will not run out within a matter of weeks.”
“We have a refinery that operates continuously; therefore, the supply is effectively secured through production. Indeed, we even export products that are not required by the Portuguese market. We are in a very secure position regarding gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel, which are our primary products. The Portuguese people can rest easy,” he concluded.

We can rest assured because we won't run out in weeks? Reminds me of the old Saturday Night Live episode where Jimmy Carter was at three mile island.
"Is it true the president is 100 feet tall?".
"No, that's completely untrue."
"Is it true the president is 90 feet tall?"
