Celebrations are planned across the country for much of the weekend. The Loulé carnival in the Algarve, the country’s oldest and one of the largest carnival parties, takes place tomorrow, Sunday and Tuesday from 3pm. In Lisbon a series of street festivities are being staged over coming days, and, the weather forecast so far is looking cool, but should at least stay dry.
