Inaugurated yesterday, the new plant will treat waste-water from 115,000 people from the regions of Faro, Olhão and São Brás de Alportel. The state-of-the-art facility replaces a number old sewerage plants, and along with the new plant in Portimão, represents an investment in improving the Algarve’s waste water treatment of €44 million.
