On Friday, 23 October it will be decided in Parliament if there will be a referendum, so that the electorate can choose directly whether to legalise euthanasia in the country or not. The PCP guaranteed through a Lusa News Agency source that it will vote against the referendum.
The project already includes the question for the referendum, that is: "Do you agree that killing another person at your request or helping them to commit suicide should continue to be punishable by criminal law under any circumstances?"
This referendum proposal results from a popular initiative, launched by the Federation for Life, with more than 95,000 signatures in this referendum initiative, was delivered in June in the Assembly of the Republic.
Do you agree that killing another person at your request or helping them to commit suicide should continue to be punishable by criminal law under any circumstances?"
Is the wrong question
Do you agree that someone has the right to take their Own life if they can produce reason why they wish to leave.
Suicide is for the physically fit.
Euthanasia is for people crippled with mental and physical pain who have had enough.
No one is killing anyone! And No one should be punished.
