Heitor claims that the world is entering a new Space era, especially in the field of Earth-monitoring, and Portugal ‘is attracting European and North-American companies and consortiums’ to that end.


In Portugal’s stand at the international fair, the Minister asked the boards of several companies to share their experiences of working and investing in Portugal. Also at the fair, the Azores Satellite Launch Programme and the Portugal Space agency were officially unveiled to the world.


Throughout the weekend Manuel Heitor held multiple meetings with representatives of international companies at the Portuguese Embassy in Paris. The Minister’s visit to France concluded with the signing of Portugal Space’s first bilateral agreement with the French Space Agency.
