Roof collapse on Lisbon’s blue metro line leaves four injured

Incident in the metro gallery at Praça de Espanha, in Lisbon, has been attributed to a “mistake” by contractors undertaking renovation works.

Four people were injured following the collapse of the roof of part of a gallery between the São Sebastião metro station and Praça de Espanha as initially reported by TVI.

The Câmara de Lisboa stated, via Twitter, that the accident was due to "a technical error" in the work that had been done in the area, "it is not a matter of maintenance problems" in the metro.

The circulation between Laranjeiras and Marquês de Pombal has been suspended for a few days.

Very sad news! How it was happened roof collapse but that was very near our location, oh my God! Concern authority should be more caring while make their constructions otherwise such incidents may happen frequently.

It is very sad!!!!!.the contractors must fix the problem in order not to reoccure.
