The 2019 Wine Style Award assessed more than 1,600 wines across the globe, listing two Portuguese reds and a port among the best.
The 1968 Taylor’s port was elected the fifth best, while the Cartuxa red from 2005 saw the Alentejo ranked eighth.
A Portuguese Douro red was placed 12th, with the 1999 Casa Ferreirinha being singled out for its quality. Overall, Forbes also revealed that Portuguese white wines were attracting increased interest.
