The event, which is classified as “the biggest festival of
‘Afrobeats’ in the world”, returns to Praia da Rocha, in the district of Faro,
for the third edition on Portuguese soil, still without any confirmed acts.
This year, the festival featured artists including Megan
Thee Stallion, Chris Brown, Wizkid and Burna Boy, bringing tens of thousands of
music lovers to the region.
In the first edition, in 2019, the Afro Nation welcomed more
than 25 thousand people, mainly from the United Kingdom. In 2020 and 2021, the
festival did not take place because of restrictions imposed due to the Covid-19
pandemic.
Afro Nation only admits people over 18 years of age, and “it
is necessary to present identification to prove age”, according to information
available on the festival's website.
Tickets for the festival cost between 169 euros, in the case
of general passes in this first launch of the event, and 349 euros, if you opt
for a “golden ticket” (with priority access and the possibility of frequenting
VIP areas).
