According to the National Statistics Institute (INE), among
the regions where rent prices rose the most, the Lisbon Metropolitan Area and
the North stand out, which in the last ten years recorded an average annual
increase in property rents of 4.13% and 3.7%, respectively.
The autonomous region of the Azores, on the other hand, is
the region where rent prices have increased the least, registering an average
annual increase of 1.2% between 2011 and 2021, thus being close to the average
inflation rate in this period of 0.8 %.
The 2021 Census results also reveal that the Lisbon
Metropolitan Area is where the value of rents is highest (average monthly value
of €403) and is also the region with the highest percentage of accommodation in
which the rents are above €1,000.
At the opposite extreme is Alentejo, where the cost of
renting houses is lower, with an average monthly rent of €261.
Our government doesn't exert control at all of the national economy and its players. I am so tired of this country.
