According to the organisation, there is an ongoing scheme being shared on social networks and via SMS that promises to obtain legal authorisation to drive in exchange for a sum of money.

"The IMT does not communicate the payment of any of its services through these means, so you should not proceed, at any time, with the requested payment", warns the Institute of Mobility and Transport.

"Whenever these situations are detected, they are communicated to the investigation authorities to determine criminal responsibility. When you detect or come across suspicious messages that indicate a fraudulent scheme to obtain a driving license, you must notify the criminal investigation authorities. The payment of any amounts to obtain a false driving license, as well as the issuing of these licenses, are crimes punishable by law. It is everyone's safety that is at stake", adds the organisation.
