In a statement, the GNR states that in the first five days of the Easter operation, 32,110 drivers were inspected, 414 of which were driving with excess alcohol. Of these, 260 were arrested for driving with a blood alcohol level equal to or greater than 1.2 g/l.
The GNR also adds that they detained another 112 people for driving without a legal license.
Of the 5,900 traffic offenses detected, the GNR highlights 3,210 for speeding, 550 for lack of mandatory periodic inspection, 191 for anomalies in the lighting and signalling systems, 166 for improper use of the cell phone while driving, 294 for lack or incorrect use of the seat belts and/or child seats and 209 for lack of compulsory civil liability insurance.
GNR's Operation Easter 2023, which started on Thursday, ends at 23:59 today.
