The ten models of Chinese electric cars for sale in Portugal are cheaper than the competition, with the average price difference being around 10 percent and 14 percent, according to a report by Público.
There are three Chinese brands already in the national market: Aiways, BYD and MG, but they only sold 352 units this year. This volume is still very low in Portugal, representing only 2.6 percent of the 13,783 electric cars registered in 2023 so far. Despite the retail price being cheaper than the competition, sales results for Chinese electric cars in Portugal are still weak.
China can in reality produce electric cars at lower costs than the European or American competition. Carlos Tavares, the leader of Stellantis, recognises that "the risk is perfectly real" of competition coming from China and admits that European manufacturers will have to "reduce costs" to keep customers.
Electric cars, yes, the Chinese models are prone to explode by itself. Secondly, all electric cars are more expensive to own and run that Petrol/Diesel cars. Who are they trying to fool. I will never buy an electric car. Besides, CO2 is and never was a problem. The Climate nerds do not know the science behind CO2, plants, Photosynthesis, sunshine and Oxygen production needed by having plants, sun and CO2! My question to the masses: Has the Sea levels risen? Has the ice caps melted? What is the lowest level of CO2 you can have before plants start dying and humans and animals with it? Go study this and see if Electric cars are the answer to climate change and so called rising CO2 levels. Science, science, science should be done by people who know what it is....

Totally new vw id.4 with a biggest battery, but produced in China, costs costs 32k usd outside of EU zone. It doesn't seem like EU concerned with CO2 or something, more like concerned with profit.

NN is wide awake, which is refreshing. Unlike so many.
We have never had so much information, so fast at our disposal, yet people have never been more stupid. Brainwashed simpletons everywhere you look who worship television as the oracle of truth.
No electric car for me either. Ever.

There are loads of wonderful little Chinese EVs, which would compete really well in the sem-carta market, practically pocket money to buy, and minimal cost to run. Why are they only selling those big EVs that, while cheaper than our usual brands will still be stunningly expensive. The little ones, they could be cheaper than our usual small diesel/petrol cars.

To NN: Are sea levels rising? Yes
In 2022, global average sea level set a new record high—101.2 mm (4 inches) above 1993 levels. The rate of global sea level rise is accelerating: it has more than doubled from 0.06 inches (1.4 millimeters) per year throughout most of the twentieth century to 0.14 inches (3.6 millimeters) per year from 2006–2015.

Are ice caps melting? Yes again:
Polar ice caps are melting as global warming causes climate change. We lose Arctic sea ice at a rate of almost 13% per decade, and over the past 30 years, the oldest and thickest ice in the Arctic has declined by a stunning 95%.
