The IPMA indicated that the orange notice for the district of Lisbon, where thousands of people participate in World Youth Day (WYD), an event chaired by Pope Francis, will be active from 00:00 on Saturday.

IPMA forecasts point to very high maximum temperatures for Lisbon, with 37 degrees Celsius forecast for Saturday and 40 degrees for Sunday.

The orange warning is issued by the IPMA when there is a meteorological situation of moderate to high risk.

On Saturday night, in the context of WYD, Pope Francis has a vigil with young people, in Parque Tejo, in Lisbon, at 09:00 on Sunday, he celebrates the mass for WYD in Parque Tejo and at 16:30 he participates at a meeting of WYD volunteers, at Passeio Marítimo de Algés.

Pope Francis will be on Saturday morning in Fátima, Santarém, a district that IMPA has placed on a yellow warning due to the persistence of high values of maximum temperature.

IMPA predicts for Fátima on Saturday a temperature of 34 degrees.

Lisbon is hosting the World Youth Day, with the presence of Pope Francis and which, until Sunday, brings together more than one million pilgrims from all over the world.
