Porsche recorded the promotional video for the new 911 S/T in Portugal and the video then went viral for all the wrong reasons after keen-eyed viewers noticed that the Cristo Rei statue had been removed.
NM asked Porsche Portugal for an explanation to try to understand the reasons that led to this decision, and the brand said that it could not comment.
Meanwhile, Porsche has since withdrawn the previously published video and this Sunday has again published a new video of the 911 S/T in Portugal, where Cristo Rei already appears in the images.
"In a previously uploaded version of the 911 S/T launch video, a reference point was removed. This was an error and we apologise for any offense caused," reads the new Porsche 911 S/T presentation video.

Because Porsche didn't want customers to think they filmed it in those Chinese copycat European towns..."what's this? San Francisco's Golden Gate and Rio's Christ the Redeemer in the same place?" Low self-esteem leeds to this nonsense on social network...no.one.cares!

I find that this is another blatant attack on Christians and Christianity by purposely removing the Cristo Rei statue in their original promotional video!

Lisa, isn't that just a bit overdramatic? People always try to assume the very worst in every situation for confirmation bias reasons. The simplest explanation tends to be the true one from an objective standpoint: they are a worldwide business that will use this photo in other places that are not Christian so it is easier to remove religious references that could offend other cultures. Was it smart of them to have handled it the way they did? Probably not since it offends someone else in the end, but to think that the business sat down and said "Hey, what can we do to piss off someone today?" is just you trying to sound like a victim here. A rather American attitude, which I suspect you are.
